The Annual General Meeting of the Eagle Community Centre Inc. will be held on Sunday, January 22nd at 1:30 pm in the Staddon Hall at the Eagle Centre. Everyone welcome. Come for a visit, come to share, come to join. Help us care for this 128 year old heritage building so it may be in our community for years to come. Refreshments served.

October 2022

At the Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, October 6th, a motion was passed to increase the cost of day rentals by $10.00. The cost beginning January 1st, 2023 will be as follows:

Staddon Hall – $90.00 per day – Hourly rate $30.00 up to 2 hours

Miller Room – $70.00 per day – Hourly rate $20.00 up to 2 hours

To keep up with the rising costs of gas, hydro and water, this increase was necessary. We have kept the prices still reasonable for all to afford and you will see the Centre is kept in good repair and is well cared for.

The first phase of the Foundation work and chimney repair has been completed due to donations from caring members of our community and grants from the Municipality of West Elgin and Green Lane Community Trust Fund. We thank all those who have supported the Centre to ensure this 1st phase was completed. The 2nd phase will have to wait until repairs to the roof are made. This was noticed while work was done to the foundation. Watch for fundraisers in the near future to support these repairs.

2021

At our Annual General Meeting in February 2021, Bonnie Rowe, Councillor with the Municipality of West Elgin, announced we were the successful recipients of a $10,000 Community Grant for foundation repairs to our historical Centre. Thank you so very much for your continued support!

In October 2020, the Eagle Community Centre received a $10,000.00 grant from the Green Lane Community Trust Fund to assist with building repairs. Thank you so much as we take one step closer to achieving our project goal of $38,000.

Through fundraising and donations the ECC has raised $5,150.00 towards this project.

The Eagle Community Centre was proud to sponsor Tori Acres as a candidate for the Rodney Aldborough Ambassador of the Fair Competition in 2019. Tori won the competition and will proudly continue to wear the crown for 2020/2021. She will attend events, public speaking engagements and represent the fair at the provincial level. Congratulations Tori!
